Hanks' Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS) is suitable for a variety of cell culture applications such as washing cells prior to dissociation, transporting cells, or Tissue samples, dilute cells for counting and prepare reagents. Before cell dissociation, the chelating agent needs to be rinsed out of the culture using a calcium- and magnesium-free preparation.
