NuPAGE Bis-Tris precast gel features include:
•Better protein integrity—Optimized sample preparation to fully protect your proteins
• Wider molecular weight separation range—Choosing the right gel and running buffers can help achieve better protein separations
• Faster run times—Protein separation times are reduced to 35 minutes
• Longer shelf life—NuPAGE Bis-Tris gels can be stored at room temperature for at least 12 months
Choose the right NuPAGE Bis-Tris gel Gel for protein separation
Select the appropriate gel and buffer combination to obtain better protein separation results. NuPAGE Bis-Tris protein gels are available in 4 polyacrylamide concentrations: 8%, 10%, 12% and 4–12% gradient. The gels are available in two sizes: small gel (8 cm x 8 cm) or medium gel (8.7 cm x 13.3 cm), with a thickness of 1.0 mm (small and medium gels) or 1.5 mm (small gels only) . NuPAGE Bis-Tris gels are also available in a variety of well sizes.
NuPAGE Bis-Tris precast gels are suitable for denaturing gel electrophoresis applications. For optimal sample preparation, use NuPAGE LDS Loading Buffer (NP0007) and NuPAGE Sample Reducing Reagent (NP0004). Use NuPAGE Antioxidant (NP0005) in the running buffer to maintain the reduced state of proteins during electrophoresis and achieve maximum band definition. Gels can be run with NuPAGE MES SDS Running Buffer (NP0002) for better separation of small proteins, or with NuPAGE MOPS SDS Running Buffer (NP000102) for separation of medium to large molecular weight proteins.
To transfer proteins to membranes, we recommend using NuPAGE Transfer Buffer (NP00061) for traditional wet transfer using the Mini Blotting Module (B1000) or the XCell II Blotting Module (EI9051). Alternatively, use the Invitrogen Power Blotter for fast semi-dry transfer or the iBlot 2 Gel Blotter (IB21001) for fast dry transfer.
