Main Functions
1. Collect and process blood lost during surgery for autologous blood transfusion back to the patient.
2. Rescue patients with massive hemorrhage (caused by diseases, warfare, field operations, natural disasters, etc.).
3. Separate autologous red blood cells, platelets and plasma before surgery to implement component blood transfusion.
4. Recover blood from uncontaminated drainage fluid after major surgeries including cardiovascular procedures and joint & spinal surgeries.
5. Supply washed red blood cells for special patient groups.
Clinical Indications
1. Traumatic surgical procedures, traumatic bleeding and battle wound hemorrhage, such as major vascular injury, liver rupture, splenic rupture, bleeding from closed spinal fractures, and emergency rescue for massive blood loss.
2. Cardiovascular surgical operations.
3. Major vascular surgical procedures.
4. Orthopedic surgeries including total hip arthroplasty and spinal operations (spondylolisthesis, spinal fusion, deformity correction, etc.).
5. Neurosurgical operations.
6. Gynecologic and obstetric surgeries such as massive hemorrhage from ruptured ectopic pregnancy and severe bleeding during cesarean section.
7. Abdominal surgeries involving the liver and spleen, portosystemic shunt operations, etc.
8. Organ transplant surgeries (heart, liver and other solid organ transplantation).
9. Major urological surgeries accompanied by heavy bleeding.
10. For surgeries featuring severe intraoperative adhesion, extensive oozing and massive platelet consumption & destruction, the system can extract platelets under anesthesia prior to the operation, which are transfused back to the patient after surgery to reduce platelet loss and prevent postoperative bleeding oozing.
