ELEM Biotech’s Shotgun stable cell line construction system is developed based on the efficient “cut-and-paste” properties of mobile transposon elements within vector DNA and the genome. During the transposon integration process, the target gene is cloned into the ELEM Shotgun transposon integration plasmid. The transposon recognition elements (ITRS) at either end of the target gene are recognized, cut, and “pasted” into specific genomic DNA sites (TTAA) by the Reman Shotgun transposase.
