pcDNA™3.1 Expression Vector Family
Three unlabeled versions of pcDNA™3.1, each containing a different selectable marker (Geneticin™, Zeocin™, or hygromycin, supplied separately), can be used individually or co-transfected. All three vectors share the following features:
1. Cytomegalovirus (CMV) enhancer-promoter for high-level expression.
2. Multiple cloning site in either forward (+) or reverse (-) orientation.
3. Bovine Growth Hormone (BGH) polyadenylation signal and transcription termination sequences for enhanced mRNA stability.
4. SV40 origin for episomal replication and easy vector recovery in cell lines expressing large T antigen (e.g., COS-1 and COS-7).
5. Ampicillin resistance gene and pUC origin for selection and maintenance in E.coli.
